Dick Hickock (b. 1933) and Perry Smith (b. 1928) American murderers, was one of two ex-convicts who murdered the four members of the Herbert Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansas on November 15, 1959, a crime made famous by Truman Capote in his 1966 non-fiction novel In Cold Blood. Along with Perry Smith, Hickock took part in the home invasion of the Clutter family farmhouse, they died on this day in 1965
