Teach Kids The bible Lesson 10-Peter and The Rooster

This is the beginning of a 52 part series of Bible Lessons for toddlers and small children. These lessons are meant to be used in your own home. My family and I will be using Monday as our Bible lesson day. It is very important to teach your own children about God and your children. God put it upon my heart to do this for my children, to teach them about Him.

Things you will need

Crayons

Digital camera

Bible

paper

Start off the lesson with a prayer-Throughout this series we will use the Children's Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray the Lord my soul to keep

If I die before I wake

I pray thee Lord my soul to take

The Children's prayer is the perfect prayer to teach your children when they are toddlers. It is easy to remember your children can say it before they go to sleep each night and it teaches your children to pray to God
Listen and Learn-Peter denies Jesus

Teach your children the four Gospels and have them say them:

Matthew
Mark
Luke
John

Mark 14 New International Version

30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice[e] you yourself will disown me three times.”
31 But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.
66 While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. 67When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him.
“You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,” she said.
68 But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,” he said, and went out into the entryway.[g]
69 When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, “This fellow is one of them.” 70 Again he denied it.
After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”
71 He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about.”
72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.[h] Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice[i] you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept.
Learn:
Do You Listen To Your Parents? Discuss with your children or students and ask them this question. Do you say you will listen to your parents, but continue to do what you want to do anyway?
Why Do You Think Peter Denied Jesus? Afraid? Angry?
As Parents of small children, make a contract with your children. What will they listen to for a week? There could be something in particular you want each of them to learn.
Example: I will write a contract that my children will behave in the car on the drive to and from school. They often argue or joke too loud. They will sign a contract to act good when we drive. We will go over the contract in a week to see how they are doing.
As teachers come up with your own contract for your students, maybe they will be quiet or participate more in class. The contract is up to you and you could keep it going as long as you like.
I will have my children draw a picture about how they should act in the car. You choose a picture for your children or students to draw.

Learn a Song With Your Children:
We Are His Hands
Hand in hand we walk together
Side by side we stand forever
Heart to heart we're bound forevermore

Chorus:
We are His hands
We are His feet
We are His people
Children of the Lord
We share the hope
We share the dream
Believers in Jesus
Children of the King

His Spirit lives within us
Flowin' like a river
Fillin' us with strength
So that we can reach out for our brother
Help one another

Repeat Chorus

Some of us build
Some are teachers
Some can sing like angels
But don't you know that none of us can love like He loves
Pure and simple
So warm and gentle

Repeat Chorus

We are children of the King, the King

Repeat Chorus

Repeat Chorus

End your lesson with the Lord's Prayer- (10 minutes) if this is the first time your children say the Lord's prayer, it may take ten minutes to teach them, otherwise two minutes is enough time to recite the Lord's Prayer

The Lord's Prayer

"Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil." (Matthew 6:9-13)

The lesson is complete for this week. These lessons are made to take up about one hour of your time. It is worth one hour of your time each week to teach your children about God. Your small children can also use an hour away from television, video games and playing to learn about God. These lessons can be used for parents of children 4-10 and in Sunday school. These lessons are made for my small children in a home atmosphere. These Bible lessons are made to help teach children about God and help families grow closer together. You have my permission to use any of these Bible lessons, but not to publish them.

When the 52 Bible lessons are done, they will be put together with my children's art and made into a book. God Bless all the people and families who read these lessons. Lesson Number one was God Created the Heaven's and the Earth. Lesson Number two was Noah's Ark and Lesson Number three is Joseph and His Beautiful Colorful Coat. This week we learned that David got his skill and strength from God and this allowed him to slay the giant Goliath and how to honor your father and your mother and the Mary the mother of Jesus-

Suggestive Reading for parents or Sunday School Teacher- Mark 14, Luke 22, Matthew 25, John 18
