Choosing The Correct Insulation to Block Out The Cold This Winter

Living in Tampa Florida, I never expected to be hit by cold weather. We moved into a new house seven years ago with sub par insulation. We didn't realize this until we were hit with a cold snap this week. The temperatures went down to 28 degrees for two straight nights and our heat did not want to work. I could feel the cold air leaking in through every crevice of our house. We nearly froze.

The next time we build a house, we will pay attention to how well it is insulated. In Florida, we build our houses out of brick walls, but the builders don't always use enough insulation to keep out the weather. Often you will feel the heat leaking through cracks in the walls, the storm winds when a hurricane rushes through or cold winter air when winter decides to stop by for a visit.

Thermal Block is the perfect system to build a house in all parts of the country. Their bricks are fire resistant, hold up to weather of all kinds and resist mold and all types of insects. The cool thing is Thermal Block makes the best insulated bricks in the industry. They block out the cold weather and stand up against all types of storms. They are also green, hypoallergenic and lower your energy bills. This week we got a huge reminder from mother nature that our house is not ready for cold weather. The next time we build a house, we will check into Thermal block and make sure we are ready for every type of weather.
