Famous People Who Died On New Years Eve

Dying is just like taxes in the respect that it is going to happen to you and me. Over history, we realize it doesn't matter who you are, you are going to face death. Famous people have no secret weapon against death. They are just like you and I. They will die. We will die. Death is a part of life. However, many of us look forward to eternal life in Heaven. After we all pass from this world, I hope to meet each one of you in a better place called Heaven.

1781- Bank of North America, 1st US bank opens
1862 - President Lincoln signs act admitting West Virginia to Union
1904- The first New Year's Eve celebration is held in Times Square, then known as Longacre Square, in New York, New York.
1946 - President Truman officially proclaims end of WW II
1961 - 1st performance of Beach Boys
1976 - The Cars played their 1st gig

1328-1384-John Wycliffe was an English religious reformer/bible translator, The Morning Star of the Reformation Movement, translated the Wycliffe Bible
1738-1775-Richard Montgomery was a US Brigadier General who dies fighting British, General during the American Revolutionary War, famous for the failed 1775 invasion of Canada, was elected to the New York Provisional Congress, he died in battle and the British gave him an honorable burial
1833-1862-James Edward Rains was a lawyer/Confederate Brigadier General, he was killed at the Battle of Stone river
1831-1862 -Joshua Woodrow Sill was a US Union Brigadier General, he was killed at the Battle of Stone River on New Years eve
1867-1950-Charles Koechlin was a French composer (Jungle Book), writer of music and teacher
1934-1972-Roberto Clemente was a slugger who played for the Pittsburg Pirates in Major League Baseball, he played his entire career with the Pittsburg Pirates and was nominated into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1973 on the first ballot, he died in an airplane accident.
1940-1985 -Rick Nelson was a singer/actor who played himself in the Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet), he had 53 songs on the Billboard hot 100 between 1957 and 1973
1914-1993 -Thomas J Watson Jr. was the president of IBM (1956-71)/diplomat, he was called the greatest capitalist in history
1958-1997 -Michael Kennedy was the son of Robert Kennedy, dies in ski accident at 39 on New Years Eve
1917-2006- George Sisler Jr. was baseball executive who was the son of Hall of Fame baseball player George Sisler
