When you think about yard signs, you probably can’t think
of many reasons for them to be in your
yard. They’re used outside of businesses to advertise sales, grand openings,
and other specials to bring in customers. There would never be a reason for you
to use one, right? Wrong! There are many reasons why you might want to put a
sign up in your suburban yard.
Yard Sales
Everybody’s seen the handwritten signs on cardboard, taped
to a stop sign pole, telling passersby that there’s a yard sale around the
corner. In fact, people see it so often that they probably don’t pay much
attention to it. However, if you post a professionally made sign in your yard,
it is more likely to grab attention and get people to stop and sort through
your wares. Why is this? When people see a cheap-looking sign, they
automatically assume your yard sale will be filled with nothing but junk; if
your sign looks professional, they are more likely to believe that you have
some good finds just waiting for them to snatch up.
Where’s the Party?
Whether you’re throwing a baby shower, birthday party, or
graduation celebration, your guests are going to need to find you. Not everyone
has a GPS, and everyone’s been in the situation of driving up and down the
street, trying to locate the right house. Even with a GPS, house numbers can
sometimes be hard to see—especially in the evening. A well-placed sign and a
few balloons can catch people’s attention so that they don’t have to make
several laps around the block before they figure out where they’re supposed to
go.
Selling Your Home
If you’re selling your house on your own, you have a tough road
ahead. You can make it easier with professional-looking yard signs that catch the eye and display important information.
You have to get as much attention as you can with that sign, because your
advertising mediums are much more limited than a realtor's would be. Make the
most of it by getting a professionally printed sign that tells potential buyers
you are serious about selling and care about giving a good impression. That
way, they’ll be more likely to take down your phone number as they pass by.
