Contemplating A CDL Job

The economy is still horrible here in Florida. The BP spill got us, the housing implosion got us and we are still treading water. With the increased gas and food prices, it is hard to make a living in Florida. I work in the service industry and my wages have been cut in half. It is really beginning to bother me having to live paycheck to paycheck. I used to be able to save a few bucks, but not anymore.

The other day I looked in the paper and I saw a bunch of CDL Jobs. The one company would even send you to school for free if you agreed to work for them. I have been contemplating a change for the past few years and this is really tempting. I know truck drivers still make a lot of money because I have friends who are in the business.

The perfect scenario for me would be a daily route from one city to another. I used to have a route like this when I lived in Indiana. I would load up my truck in Cincinnati and drive to Louisville. I would spend the rest of the day dropping off deliveries in Louisville and I would make it home for dinner every night. I think I might answer one of these ads and see what they have to offer me.
