Waylon Jennings was a famous American Country Music musician and singer/songwriter, he gave up his seat in the plane crash that killed The Big Bopper, Richie Valens and Buddy Holly and lived 43 more years because of it, he formed the Highwayman group with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson and was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, he died on this day in 2002
