Putting In A New Lawn Sprinkler System

We wanted to put a new lawn sprinkler system around our house. Florida has dry months and you actually need a sprinkler system if you don't want all of your plants to dry up. I have a friend who agreed to put the system in, all I needed was a place to buy the parts. My friend suggested a company he deals with online, so we checked it out. A Move To Kansas City

My sister used to live in Kansas City years ago. She moved to upstate NY into a small town and she is getting bored. She looks for houses online nearly everyday. She told me she looks in Florida, Kansas City and other parts of the country. She is amazed how the prices of houses have been going down. If she moved out of New York, she could buy a huge house for the price she paid for a tiny two bedroom. She is tempted, but her husband does not want to leave.

Yesterday, my sister told me how she found a site loaded with Kansas City homes. She believes her husband will be more likely to move to Kansas City than he would to Florida. Kansas City has a winter and Florida is too hot. She believes her husband would not be able to deal with the heat in Florida. Sometimes, she wonders if she will ever get out of New York.

My sister's dream is to buy a house and turn it into a bed and breakfast. My sister loves to cook and entertain. She knows now is the time for her to look because eventually the housing market will begin to pick up again. She would rather get in at the bottom and watch the value of her place slowly rise, than to pay too much for the place. I hope my sister will be able to find a place soon so she can live her dream. The Old Torn And Tattered Bible

The Bible is old torn and tattered. It is a King James Version. The cover is torn off the Bible from many years of use. There is writing on nearly every page of the Bible. Thoughts from a man long past. Thoughts from a friend I lost over three years ago.

The Bible has been collecting dust in my closet for three years. I read my own Bible daily, but I couldn’t bear to touch the old torn and tattered Bible of my friend. When he passed, I was saddened more than I could have ever imagined. I had many sleepless nights. I remember waking up in the middle of the night, anxious. I wasn’t sure what was more painful. Being there for seven years and watching my friend die or dealing with his death.

Finally, in February on our trip to the Philippines everything came to a head. I had an anxiety on the plane and was anxious for nearly all of the eighteen days of our trip. I decided it was time for me to take a few steps closer to God. I mean I worshipped God, but I didn’t allow myself to get too close.

In the Philippines I found Associated Content and decided to write. This made me break out the songs I wrote with my friend before he died. Looking at the songs brought back wonderful memories. My friend in Indiana on the phone and I on the other end here in Florida. We talked everyday about God, politics and writing songs. He taught me how to write songs.

One day, I found the old torn and tattered Bible on a shelf in my closet. I finally had the courage to take it out and look at it. I was amazed at how torn up the Bible was. I was amazed at all the writing my friend had done within the pages of the Bible. This was my friend’s own personal Bible. Every thought he had about God was written down within the pages of this Bible. He left part of himself with me in the old torn and tattered Bible.

My friend was the one who led me back to God. I had fallen away and was angry at God. I did not care if I was alive or dead. My friend was always there for me. I was always there for him until the end. Finally, I realized something. My friend gave me this old, torn and tattered Bible for a reason. He did not want me to place it into the closet to collect dust. He wanted me to open the pages of the Bible (his Bible) and read the word of God. He left me a part of himself that will always be here with me. He left me the most important part of him. My friend left me a diagram of his own personal relationship with Jesus within the pages of this old torn and tattered Bible.

The old, torn and tattered Bible is now open. I am slowly reading the Bible along with the thoughts my friend wrote within its pages. I no longer have to mourn for my friend. He is alive within the pages of this old torn and tattered Bible. He is alive in Christ. He is alive for eternity. My friend is alive inside of my heart.

Preparing For Hurricane Season in Florida

It's that time of the year again, hurricane season. This year, we have decided we need to prepare better than we have in the past. We bought a portable generator and a solar powered battery charger in case our electricity is knocked out during a hurricane. We already lost our power for two hours a couple of weeks ago in our neighborhood. One of the transformers went back and our family was left in the dark. We don't want this to happen to us during hurricane season.

Preparing for hurricane season in Florida is very important. We are right in the middle of the action. Hurricanes go by every year and sometimes come to Florida for a visit. When they come, they leave all sorts of damage and destruction. You can even get hit by tornadoes that spur from the hurricanes. Our First U-Pick Strawberries Experience in Florida

My daughter's Megan, Khloe and I went to pick strawberries on Saturday. We picked 30 quarts of strawberries for $15 and they supplied the containers. We had a blast and we froze a bunch of strawberries for smoothies. We have eaten strawberry shortcake twice so far and look forward to more.

We forgot our camera, so  we don't have any pictures of the actually strawberry picking and eating while picking. My daughter's and I had a blast and we got a good deal on strawberries. All the money went to charity through the 4-H club. We picked the strawberries in Plant City, FL and you only had one day to pick...

The Importance of Continuing Your Education In Today's Society

I would love to go back to college and finish my degree. It is hard because I spent the past eight years of my life as a stay at home father who works full-time at night. If you are a parent, you realize this leaves little time for a college education. Our children are important and they take up much of our time. This is the life of a stay at home father.

I am one of those people who quit college when I was nearly through. I collected 114 hours out of the 125 hours I needed for my bachelors degree when I quit. I quit because I had worked full-time and went to college full-time for five years. I was burned out, young and tired of school. This is one of those decisions I wish I could take back, but I cannot. Sometimes we make decisions we have to deal with for the rest of our lives, this is one of them.

Since then, I have taken three college classes, but have not finished off my degree. This is still my goal and I will accomplish it even if it takes the rest of my life. I live in Florida now and I have become interested in graphic design courses in miami or continuing my education here in Tampa. I haven't decided which, but the decision is still being weighed in my mind.

In today's economy education is very important. There aren't enough jobs to go around and a college education gives you a fighting chance to compete for the job you want. Educated people have a much better chance to get a good job in a tough economy than those who gave up on college. This is one of the reasons I will finish my college degree in the near future.

Train For an Energy Career in Florida

The economy in Florida is horrible and it looks like it is time for me to find a new job. It is hot in Florida and energy seems to be an important part of our lifestyle. If you don't have air-conditioning in the middle of the summer here, you will suffer. I decided it would be a good idea for me to take BPI training. This way I would be able to become learn energy conservation and begin a new career.

After the BPI training, I decided to take the next step and take solar training. This way I will be able to install solar energy products and help the environment at the same time. I figured, the more training I take, the more money I will make and the more prepared I will be to keep our environment green in Florida. I also always wanted solar energy in my own house and it would be cool to be able to install it myself.

After all this training, I decided to make the energy world my career. I decided to finish off my training with energy management training and finish off my career with a degree. I would love to manage my own career and at the same time keep the environment in Florida as green as possible. If you want a good and new career in Florida, energy may be the thing you are looking for to enhance your life. Now that i'm certified, it's time to go to work

The Freeze Hits Tampa Florida

The freeze hit Tampa Florida last night. Our temperatures fell below 30 degrees which is very cold for this part of the country. To make matters worse, our heat went out. Good thing cold weather does not stay long in the South.

I'm sitting here on the couch with a blanket on my lap. My children are in their warm school and my wife is at her warm work. I hate the cold, but I can deal for a little while. Tonight will be ten degrees warmer and tomorrow will warm up into the upper 60's.

Hope the rest of you are keeping warm. The freeze hit us last night, but we will thaw out soon. It is hard to believe just a week ago we had temps in the 80's....

Living Life At Florida Country Clubs

I remember when I  arrived in Tampa nine years ago, my first job was at a Florida country club. I was a valet for all of the members of one of the best country clubs in the Tampa area. I learned the ins and outs of the place very fast, drove luxurious cars and made friends with the clientele.  

My job was cool because I was paid to work in a Florida country club with beautiful trees and a great golf course. The scenery was incredible, the place was kept in tip top shape and the people were the nicest people you ever met in your life.

The country club had a golf club, but that was just a small part of the country club itself. The country club was where all the members would go to eat luxurious dinners, play cards and give away their sons and daughters in fancy weddings. The country club would hold golf tournaments every year for its members and once in awhile a professional golfer would stop by and join in on the fun.

Florida Country Clubs are the places to go to meet new people and have a good time together. The people you meet become lifelong friends, business acquaintances and your competition on the golf course. The houses surrounding the golf course and the country club may be large and luxurious, but the people in them are just good down home American people. The people you meet at Florida Country Clubs are the type of people you are happy to call your friends.

Is Florida The Saddest Place In America

Florida is beautiful, lots of sun, warm weather and beaches. Florida is also a place where the economy is bad and many people are depressed. There are five cities in Florida that are on the top of the list of the saddest cities in America. This means more people take anti-depressants in these cities and more people commit suicide in these cities.

Sadly, Florida is a sad place. We have amusement parks, beaches and many fun things to do here, but people no longer have money. Maybe this is why all pro-football teams are losers this year in Florida. I think it is time for me to go somewhere and have my daily cry.
