Trip To New York State, Surprised By New York Safe Act

We are on vacation in New York State. My sister lives in Pulaski, NY. We have been driving around and seeing many signs that say repeal the New York Safe Act. I have been asking questions. The Safe Act allows law enforcement to go into your house and take your guns without a warrant. They just have to have some sort of reason. I'm hearing, they just don't have to like you.

The Safe Act makes New York, a state tough on gun owners, tougher on gun owners. All gun owners have to register their guns and can have them taken at any time. “New York State Rifle and Pistol Association (NYSRPA) President Thomas King announced that all bills calling for the repeal of the SAFE Act were killed in the Democrat-dominated Codes Committee and would not be brought to the assembly floor for a vote.”

The Safe Act seems like an act to take weapons away from all law abiding citizens. Yes, it is only in New York, but Democrats would love to take this law Federal. Many people in New York are afraid that the government have (again) overstepped their boundaries. The government is here to govern, not control us. It's amazing what you learn, when you go on a vacation.

For all of you in New York who hate this law, I stand with you, it sucks and should be repealed. There are lawsuits against this law.
