Parents: Maintain a Healthy Way of Life for Your Children

As a parent it’s not only important to take care of your children and keep them healthy, but it’s also important to keep yourself healthy too. This includes going to the doctor annually and getting a check up, treating yourself kindly when you get sick, and figuring out solutions to feeling down in the dumps when difficult times hit. In order to be the best parent for your children it’s imperative to take care of yourself both physically and mentally.

Treat Anxiety with Natural Supplements

As opposed to taking anxiety medicine like Xanax or another drug that can be addictive, why not try a natural remedy to help treat your anxiety? Anxiety is a normal part of life, but suffering from an excessive amount of anxiety can prevent you from enjoying life and appreciating the little moments with your kids and loved ones. Rhodila rosea comes from the root of the plant and is used to treat anxiety, stress, and mental and physical fatigue. If you’d like to try this remedy, rhodiola rosea can be purchased online in tablet form.

Exercise for at Least a Half an Hour Daily

As a parent ages it is even more pertinent for them to take care of their bodies. Not only is it important to eat right, but exercising for at least a half an hour a day will get your heart rate up and will help you live a longer and healthier life. If you are an older parent this is especially important because your kids want you to be around for a long time! No matter what age you are, it’s never too late to exercise daily and eat the right kind of foods that will help you maintain a healthy way of life.

Be a Good Role Model to Your Children

Your children will look to you for health advice, eating right, and taking care of both their physical and mental issues both when they are younger and even later in life. Do your research now and you will feel more confident offering them advice when they need it. Encourage your kids to participate in sports when they are younger and if you’re healthy enough, you’ll be able to kick around a soccer ball or play tennis with them! By both you and your family having a healthy standard of living, you’ll stay healthy on your own while encouraging those you love to live a similar lifestyle.

No Choice (Poetry)

I had no choice
You gave me none
You made a move
That could not be undone

The days go by
With Thoughts of you
I think out loud
What can I do?

I watched you leave
I said goodbye
I wiped a teardrop
From both my eyes

Anxious thoughts
Came over me
My little girl
Is now sixteen

You chose a road
Many miles from me
Where the sky is blue
And the grass is green

I had no choice
You gave me none
You made a move
That could not be undone.....

A Trip Through Anxiety

I made it to the airport
After two hours of restless sleep
Groggy, nervous and anxious
About the trip ahead

I walked on to the plane
chills crept up my spine
I twisted in my seat
As the plane roared to life

I fell asleep
floating through restless dreams
my seat disappeared
I was falling through the air

I was falling, falling, falling
falling to my doom
Soon I would crash
and die a horrible death

I jumped from my seat
Sweat poured down my cheeks
My heart pounded
Out of my chest

I was safe
But I felt like my life was in danger
What was I going to do?
I closed my eyes and prayed

The plane landed safely
And I was happy to be alive
I raced into the airport
relief fell over me

Half of our trip was over,
But I had to step on to another plane
Anxiety took over
And froze me in place

Somebody touched my hand
and helped me to the plane
I was led to my seat
By an inner peace

The plane roared to life
Ready to take off
I sat in my seat
and said a soft prayer

I fell asleep
The dreams were frightful
I was falling through the air
Falling to my death
Falling, Falling, Falling
Falling to my death.....

Lift Me Up Lord

I'm in pain Lord
Lift Me Up
I am anxious Lord
Lift Me Up

I am a sinner Lord
Lift Me Up
I need your strength Lord
Lift Me Up

I cannot sleep Lord
Lift Me Up
My dreams haunt me Lord
Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up Lord
Lift Me Up
Lift Me Up Lord
Lift Me Up

I am lonely Lord
Lift Me Up
I need you Lord
Lift Me Up

I am afraid Lord
Lift Me Up
My enemies search for me Lord
Lift Me Up

I am sick Lord
Lift Me Up
My heart is broken Lord
Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up Lord
Lift Me Up
Lift Me Up Lord
Lift Me Up

I have lost everything Lord
Lift Me Up
I have lost everyone Lord
Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up Lord
Lift Me Up
Lift Me Up Lord
Lift Me Up

Dealing With Anxiety While Flying

Couldn't sleep last night because I had to fly and I hate flying. I am actually afraid of heights and I get anxiety at the worst times. Had to get up at 6 AM and didn't fall asleep until after 4 AM. What a way to start a vacation. I wasn't ready for the day and I dreaded stepping on to the plane.

Our trip is to Pulaski, NY which is about forty minutes from Syracuse. We flew United Airlines to Washington DC and flew from DC to Syracuse. It took five hours and seemed longer dealing with my anxiety. The first plane ride was horrible because I was anxious and scared. I fell asleep and had dreams about the plane crashing and/or falling apart. I was glad when we reached DC.

The second plane ride was better. I slept through it and did not have to deal with anxiety. When we reached Syracuse, I was exhausted, but I made it. I still hate flying, but I am hoping the ride home is much better with less anxiety.

I was curious if anybody else went through a day like this or had anxiety about a plane ride. I'm glad this doesn't always happen, but when it comes down too it, I still hate flying.....
