We Need More Christian Drug Treatment Centers

We all deal with problems in our lives. Some of the problems are due to abuse, others are problems we make ourselves. Some of us drink too much or get hooked on illegal drugs. Often illegal drugs become a problem and can destroy our lives. Sadly, we lose too many of our young people to illegal drugs and alcohol related deaths. We need more places where our kids can go and get real help for their problems.

I remember dealing with problems as a young man. I never knew I had a problem until I got into trouble. I was forced to go to counseling and talk to a christian counselor. I believe this counseling made have saved my life. I was going down the wrong road in life. Many of our young people are in the same situation. They get hooked on drugs, alcohol or shoplifting and find themselves in a bad situation. We lose too many young people to drugs and alcohol.

This is why we need more good Christian Drug Treatment centers to help our children. A place that treats each individual with respect and lives to help them get better. A place that gets your family member off of drugs for good and works on their confidence and spirituality. We need more drug treatment centers that care  about happens to our youth after they leave the drug treatment center.

The Joy Of First Communion

My son just turned eight in March. He has gone to Catholic school for one year and he loves God. He is also shy, but he loves God. For the past few years, he has walked through the Lord's Supper with us and watched us take communion. He always wondered why he was not allowed to take it. When he was very young, he thought the Lord's Supper was food and could not understand why we ate and he did not.

The Lord's Supper is actually a type of food, but not the type of food my son was thinking about. Communion feeds us in our Christian lives and feeds our souls. Communion connects us with Jesus in a very special way. My son learned about communion in school and Sunday was his day to take communion for the first time. I will have pictures in a couple of later posts that show my son at his First Communion.

We went to practice Tuesday night. The walk through was really cute. It was very rewarding watching the young children and my son prepare for this very special moment of their lives. Saturday was the moment for my son's First Communion. The service was 11:30 AM until 1 PM. My son and all of his friends were dressed up and ready to partake in their first Lord's Supper. My son was excited and he was ready. It was a beautiful moment in our lives and I almost cried. Father Bill smiled at me as I walked behind my son and watched him take his First Communion.

It was funny to watch my son at moments. He complained about his feet hurting, the tie hurting and the clothes were uncomfortable. When that moment came for him to take the Lord's Supper, he forget about all of the annoyances of dressing up. It was a beautiful moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. My five year old daughter commented today about how she cannot wait until her First Communion. God Bless little children, their innocence and the excitement that comes along with it.

Is There Really Life After Death?

I am a Christian and I am afraid of dying. I am told my fears come from a horrible childhood. Jesus would tell me, I have a lack of faith. I also believe He would understand my heart. I read a passage in the Bible the other day and I cannot stop reading it. It excites me and comforts me at the same time. The passage is in the eleventh chapter of John.
The story is about Lazarus. Lazarus was dying and his two sisters wanted Jesus to save him. Mary and Martha had complete faith in the power of Jesus. They believed in Him with all their hearts. Jesus arrived after Lazarus died. However, Jesus told everybody Lazarus was not dead, he was just sleeping. The people thought Jesus was a little mad. Lazarus had been in his tomb for four days. Jesus knew Lazarus had died, but his death was not for forever. Lazarus was asleep for a time.
Jesus told Martha that her brother would rise again. Martha said she knew Lazarus would rise again in the resurrection or the last day. This is where the good part comes in. “Jesus said to her. ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die-ever. Do you believe this?’ ‘Yes , Lord,’ she told Him, ‘I believe You are the Messiah, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.’ “ (John 11:25-27 The Apologetics Study Bible).
Everybody knows the story about how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. This was one of the greatest miracles Jesus performed here on earth. Lazarus had been dead for four days and Jesus had the power to raise him from the dead. This story teaches us a lesson. Jesus is teaching us an important lesson. Jesus is our savior. He died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. He rose from the dead and defeated Satan. Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. He is God. Jesus is part of the three in one. The three in one is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Jesus has the full power of God at his disposal.
In this scripture Jesus was telling us that if we believe in Him, even if we die, we will live. He will raise all of us up on the last day. He is telling us we will never really die. Our death is a sort of sleep. We will sleep until Jesus returns and raises all of us up into eternal life. We will live with him in Heaven for eternity. This is a promise all Christians can believe in.
This scripture taught me a lesson about faith. Yes, I am a Christian. Yes, I have a fear of death. Yes, Jesus has the power to defeat even death. As a Christian, there really is nothing for us to be afraid of. Jesus is on our team. He is God. He promised he would raise each one of us up on the last day. The most important thing is for us to believe in Him. Without Him we can do nothing. With Him all things are possible.

How To Become A Radical Christian Punk

Yes, I am one of those radical Christians. You might as well call me a Christian punk. I refuse to conform to the ways of the world. I will follow what Jesus told me to do in the Bible. He is my savior and He gave me life. Jesus is the reason I became a Christian. You can make funny of me and my ways. You can make rules and laws that affect my life. It does not matter because I will be a Christian punk until the day I die. What Is A Christian Punk?
A Christian punk does not conform to the ways of the world. I do not have any body piercings. I do not have any tattoos. This is my choice. Not all Christian people go without piercings and tattoos. This does not make them less of a Christian than I am. I am a Christian punk because I have my own style of clothing. I could care less what is in and what is out. My style is part of what makes me a Christian punk. I am a Christian punk because I listen to my kind of music. My music happens to be Christian. My favorite group is Skillet. I may be forty-six years old, but you can still see me bopping my head to the tunes coming out of my car stereo. I am a Christian punk and I am proud of it.
A Christian punk does not conform to the ways of the world. I do not believe in abortion. I believe it is wrong and I believe abortion is murder. Yes, I am radical. Yes, I am a Christian punk. I believe in the sanctity of marriage. I believe marriage is between one man and one woman. I believe homosexual marriage is wrong. I do not hate gay people, but I believe their lifestyle is wrong. I am a Christian punk. Call me it if you want to. I do not do drugs to help me through my day. I seldom gamble because I believe it is a waste of time and money. I hardly ever have an alcoholic beverage. I never get drunk. I am a radical Christian punk. This is my lifestyle. My lifestyle does not conform to the beliefs of the world.
A Christian punk does not conform to the ways of the world. I will greet you with "merry Christmas" during the Christmas season. You will not hear me say happy holidays because I am a Christian punk. I believe Christianity is the only religion that leads to heaven. I do not hate other religions. I do not want to remove Muslims off the face of the earth. I know Muslims want to remove Christian's off the face of the earth. I will not shove my Christianity down your throat. However, I will not conform to your ways. I am a radical Christian punk.
How Do You Become A Radical Christian Punk?
• Ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins-everybody had sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus came down to earth as a man, he was perfect. Jesus died on the cross to forgive all of our sins and He rose from the grave (three days later) and defeated death.
• Become a baptized believer-different churches believe baptism is done in different ways. Some churches sprinkle or pour water over a person's head. The correct way to be baptized is by being completely immersed into water. Baptism is an act of obedience to God.
• Live your life as a Christian. People around you will call you one of those radical Christian people. Don't worry about it. You could go one step further and be like me. I am a radical Christian punk. I do not conform to the ways of the world. This is what Christianity is. Christian people are not without sin. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. However, a Christian is covered by the blood of Jesus. Our sins are forgiven. Living the Christian life is hard, but living it as a radical Christian punk makes it a little bit easier. As a radical Christian punk you realize the world is not going to look at you as a Christian (Christ like) person. The world will make fun of your lifestyle as a Christian. They will persecute you because you are a Christian.
• Live knowing this life is not the end. All people will live into eternity. The Christian person will go to heaven. We do not go to heaven because we are better than anybody else. The Christian person goes to heaven because of the blood of Jesus Christ. Without Him we are nothing. The non-Christian's destiny is a different place. It is a place where there will be an eternity of suffering.
Radical Christian punk-
Radical-because our country believes everything Christians do is radical
Christian-because Jesus died on the cross from the dead and arose after three days, defeating death. He is our savior. He made us Christians.
Punk-different in every way-not normal-weird-odd.......
