Experiencing Hockey With My Son

I took my son to a Tampa Bay Lightning game with his friend. They loved the game and cheered through all three periods. The best part of the game was the Lightning actually won and our whole family went home happy. As soon as we got home, my son wanted to know if he could play hockey. I told him I would check in to it, but I believed it would be very expensive. He also wanted me to be a part of his team as a coach.

I had never been a coach before, but I thought it would be cool to do something fun with my son. We found a local ice rink and I asked around about beginner hockey teams. My son never played before and I wasn't sure how long he stay interested in hockey. We met the coach of the team and he was willing to talk to us. He told us everything about the team and let us know there were openings. They needed more players who were beginning hockey players. I asked if I could help out and the coach agreed.

We have been going to practice for three months now. It has been a learning experience for both my son and I. He is having fun learning and I am learning online about how to coach hockey. I found a place has free hockey drills. The place is filled with great information about hockey and the coaching experience. It has been a joy sharing more fun time with my son. I don't know if he will ever become a hockey player, but he is having fun learning about it.
