Yearning for Sunshine

I woke up this morning
To a sad and cloudy day
The wind was roaring
I fell on my knees to pray

My heart was pounding
Sweat was running down my face
my thoughts wandered
to a dark and lonely place

I jumped up
I paced around the room
The storm was pounding
thunder hit with a great boom

The rain made puddles
Pouring down my cheeks
The clouds grew angry
With another lightning streak

I prayed to God
To take this storm away
I couldn't take
another lonely day

.....I woke up this morning
The clouds had disappeared
A glimmer of hope
Is replacing all my fears
